The Compliment Project

I came across the Compliment Project a while back and the concept inspired me, especially now when it seems like we could all use a little positivity. It started in San Francisco right after the election, and displays the power of kindness. Anna Sergeeva, the creator of the project, recognized that after the election there has been a “sense of sadness, and fear and hatred, regardless of what your political opinion is.” So she decided to do something about it. She created old-school paper flyers with tabs that you can rip off. On each tab is written a simple compliment like, “you light up the room” or “your smile is beautiful.”

For a lot of people it has given them hope that there are still kind and compassionate people out there. The project has already spread beyond San Francisco. And it’s easy for anyone else to share the Compliment Project. On the site you can download and print flyers to post in your own neighborhood. They even have flyers in German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Turkish. Check out their website here.

Hope you can brighten someone’s day. πŸ™‚
